COMIC BOOK COLLEGE - Meet the Faculty! Hi, I'm Ralph Johnson. You may remember me as family member or 5th through 12th grade student Greg Johnson, who spent the lion's share of my formative years in Mankato, MN. After graduating from St. John's (MN), I was one of many owners of the famed Comic City, which started in 1974 at 3151 Hennepin Av, and went through a long succession of owners and partners, but I owned my part the longest, from 1980 to 1986! When the remaining owner decided to move in April of 1988, Chris (Nostalgia Zone) Budel and I were looking for a location and opened Comic College at the same address the next day. Therefore, I have been skulking around this corner for more than 2 decades. I work part time in the payroll department of a big company downtown, play guitar loud, jog, and love/hate to launch Ebay auctions and repair this website whenever it's necessary. I've been single since the new millenium began, and have a dog to keep my feet active at least twice a day and a cat to keep my fingertips busy. I started this website and selling on Ebay in 1998. I plan on moving the HQ, dog, cat and instruments, et al, to California in August of 2003.

Over the years, I have assembled a posse of laborers and help-mates. Various permutations of these valued associates are assembled from the likes of Curtis, Brian, and John, and Nostalgia Zone crew Steve, Tone, Chris, Brian (same one), or Steve, and on rare occasion, Steve. If you travel to visit our store, you may be greeted by Bob Barker, the most popular dog in Uptown. And if you are really lucky, you'll find Sam the cat "helping" on the counter.

As of May 7, 2003, Tim Lohn is the proprietor of the new comics section of the store located at 3151 Hennepin Av S in Minneapolis, still known as the Comic Book College. He's been helping out on new comic day and been in charge of subscription pulls for over a year, and travels to more than 20 comic shows a year from Phildelphia to Omaha. He's a fine, upstanding merchant, and deserves all your money.
